Burdol Design is my one-person studio for small business websites and brands. Its site went from naming the studio to live in four days. The studio took its first paid job in September 2026.
I did the brand, design system and copy. AI coding agents did the build, and I checked the real thing.
Problem
A studio's own site is its first case study, so it can't look generic.
If a studio's site looks generic, nothing else on it matters. So I treated it like client work: every detail had to double as proof.
Process
The name came from a teddy bear, before any logo existed.
Burdol is the teddy bear my mom gave me when I was about six. That story became the studio's promise: something made with care that stays with you.
The look is Swiss and black and white. Emphasis comes only from size and weight, and a hand-drawn bear is the mark.
Process
One moment of motion, and the rest of the craft spent on states.
The headline settling in on load is the only big animation. Everything else stays quiet. Buttons are easy to tap and show when they're pressed. The form never fakes success.

Reflection
A green local build is not the same as a working site.
Three bugs taught me the most. An arrow turned into an emoji on iPhones. The live form shipped without its address. And a test emailed me real messages.
Every local build passed. Now I check the live site before I celebrate.
